Enjoying Art's Cream Gallery and Monte Carlo Movie Night

After our superb dinner at Holy Cow, I accompanied Deah to but coffee at Starbucks in midtown. We went out and I went to buy ice cream at Haagen Dazs , but unfortunately, it's already close. We where walking when we noticed that the shop in front of Holy Cow where we had dinner is actually a shop offering gelato and coffee named ART'S CREAM GALLERY.
Looking at the different flavored gelato, I was tempted to try them and I decided to have the large cup with three flavors of your choice.
Gelato is a frozen Italian dessert similar to ice cream. Its ingredients include milk and sugar and is often combined with flavorings and fruit, chocolate, liquor, spices or nuts. Unlike ice cream, it does not contain cream, and traditionally has much lower fat content. (www.wisegeek.com)

Here is a photo of the available flavors of their gelato. The different colors are very appealing to the senses and made a weak individual like me to crave.

Here are my choices for that evening... Their best seller chocolate flavored one, Kahlua with Cookies and blueberry cheesecake. Next time I will not forget to take the exact names of the flavors that I will try.
Good thing that all the flavors that I chose went well together. Next time I will try their tower of gelato with 12 scoops of different flavors.

We stayed at their open area with such artistic and lovely tables and chairs for a little while. After that, we already went to the cinemas for our movie side trip.

We watched Monte Carlo. I can compare it to an indie film here in our country. Good thing that its casts are composed of today's brightest young stars like Selena Gomez of Wizards of Waverly Place and Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy. Over-all the film was entertaining and it reminded me of those high school romantic stories I used to watch.

Oh I just love spending time with my friends. We share stories, eat, entertain ourselves, eat, walk, eat and eat!  Yes we love eating! haha,,, Till next time!

Buffet Dinner @ YakiMix, Tomas Morato and the fear of Taenia species

I was feeling weak that day and I haven't eaten anything since the previous night because of the heavy rain when Ate Aljane called me if I want to have dinner with her sister at Yakimix Tomas Morato. I said yes since I was alone that day. We called Fritz to join us. We agreed to meet 5:30 but I was not able to tolerate my hunger so I ate at KFC Morayta an hour before our supposed to be meeting. I was an hour late but Fritz was  better on me when it comes to that art.
We rode a cab to Tomas and by the time we got there, the place is already jam packed. We were number 9 in the waiting list but good thing there were seats and complementary drinks for everyone which made the wait a little comfortable on our part. After 30 minutes or so, we were able to go inside and the battle began!
YakiMix is a Japanese Themed Restaurant which offers buffet lunch from 11:00am-2:00pm during Mondays to Thursdays and 11:00am-2:30pm during Fridays to Sundays. Buffet dinner starts from 5:30pm-10:00pm from Mondays to Thursdays and 5:30pm-10:30pm from Fridays to Sundays.
One of the famous attractions that they have is the Smokeless Grill where you cook the food yourself in the center of the table. There are lots of options from pork, chicken, beef, sausages and sea foods.
They also have cooked food if you don't have the patience to grill your own food. They have varieties of dishes not limited to Japanese. Some have Chinese, Korean or slightly Pinoy touches. They also have these Sushi Bar where there are lots of Sushi options to choose from. I did not bother to go there since I am not a Sushi fanatic after all.
Here is my plate from the Cooked food section. It was a wrong move to get plenty of their rice since this is a buffet. I felt full at once since I just ate lunch plus Japanese rice leaves me with a heavy feeling. I really love the spareribs and their tempura which is the only Japanese food that I can eat all day long without complaining
Here are the raw foods I picked from the bar for grilling. I really enjoyed their sausages, shrimp and different beef preparations. I felt stupid getting a lot of hams since they can be easily found in any supermarket... wala lang just sharing. There are a lot of food which I find weird up to now but they do taste good. I am just quite doubtful whether my food is already cooked or if it's still raw inside. I was afraid to ingest Taenia saginata from beef or Taenia solium from pork.

Here are my weird friends who enjoyed the night a lot. I felt bad that I ate Lunch very late while my friends prepared for this. They went there with starving stomachs. hahaha
We chose to have this Tropical Lemonade which is color blue. They have lots of drinks to choose from.
Here is a glimpse of our grilling session.

After that Gluttony feast, the eating session continues... This time dessert! They have a bar filled with cakes from red ribbon, different pastries, ice cream toppings and a freezer full of different flavors of ice cream, Popsicle sticks etc...
This is the strawberry ice cream which Fritz made for me... he topped it with chocolates and mallows.
Here is the Leche flan he also got for me. It's perfect! I'm madly in love with this pudding!
These are my choices of pastries. Egg Tarts, macaroons, mini cupcakes, fruit tarts and icing bars...
There are also cheesecakes which are really delicious... I did not get Cakes from red ribbon since I can taste them outside. I prefer to have those which I can only taste there.

Among all the sumptuous  desserts, I really like the egg tarts and the blueberry cheesecake.
Here are our satisfied faces(not to mention tummies) after our BIGATING DINNER!
We were supposed to go home when I told them that I want to watch Green Lantern that night. and they agreed even if Ate Aljane contested our choice. Only I and Mia enjoyed the movie. Fritz was also bored with the movie's plot. Oh well, I can't deny that the ending was a disappointment but I like the message that the movie tries to tell us... go and see the movie yourself:) I don't wanna be a spoiler;)

Cheesy Night with Jops: Sbarro + Forever and a Day:))

Last June 18, we had our cluster meeting for the Manila Area under MMD. So it was a fun experience while working because we share our different insights regarding certain events and issues happening. The thing which stressed us is the weather. It's raining hard so I wasn't able to ride the LRT going to my pre-planned activity after the meeting. I went to see Seven at T&J at North Edsa and have a haircut. After few minutes it was done. I crossed to Trinoma and texted Jops to join me. Luckily she's available that time. We were suppose to watch Green Lantern at Resorts World that time but since the weather is not in the mood, we decided to watch at Trinoma. We purchased our tickets and then, looked for something to eat.
Since it's Sunday and it's almost 8:30, we do not that much option on where to eat since some are preparing to close. We agreed to have Sbarro for dinner and they only have few available choices.

As always, I had raspberry juice as my beverage. It's my all time favorite drink at Sbarro..
There were only two pizza flavors available that time. This is Supreme Pan which went to Jops (and partially to me) I like the way it was cooked that time. It's crispy and there are lots of flavors coming out and felt by my tongue that time.
This was my pizza, Meat Delight. It's okay but I want it better if it's more crispy and cooked very well.
I had Baked Ziti with Chicken Parmigiana... This was my first time to have this since they don't have spaghetti pasta that time. It's just okay. Ziti with toppings:)
Baked ziti for jops. She already ate that time ata before leaving the office.
For dessert, I chose to have blueberry cheesecake. It's good and I really like it. Being a cheesecake lover, I also want to try their cherry cheesecake and the other one which has both blueberry and cherry.
Here's jops in one of her usual looks:) joke,, this is stolen of course
After that, we watched Sam and KC's movie, Forever and a Day... It's a story about a dying girl who is out to conquer her fears before her life ends. It's a story of optimism, appreciation and hope. I like the way they showed the beauty of Cagayan de Oro. It made me realized that the quality of life is not about how long it has been, but how well you spent it.

Dinner @ Army Navy+In The Name of Love (05.17.11)

I was alarmed that I was beaten by mommy and daddy when they watched In the Name of Love first. I can really feel my social life dying! haha OA lang. So I forced(yes forced talaga!) ate to watch it with me. I thought riding the LRT will be easier since usually there is traffic all-over the metro 7-9pm. But again, I was wrong I counted years on our way to Trinoma. We purchased our tickets when we got there and since we still have an hour and a half, we went to SM North Sky Garden to have dinner.
Almost everywhere is filled with people and I was really hoping to eat ASAP since I did not have mirienda that day at work. We went to Army Navy to have quick dinner before the film starts. It's nice  to dine at the sky garden since the weather is gloomy and it feels like it was going to rain anytime. The only disadvantage of course is you will be very exposed to those who pass.
After we ordered, we rested and chat with one another. I really think that they are very slow in preparing the orders since it took them 45 minutes to prepare our sandwiches. Another thing that I do not like is they serve our orders one by one.
For our beverages, we had LIBERTEA. It's just iced tea but there is something different with the taste.
We also had FREEDOM FRIES which I think is a crispier and tastier mini version of KFC's fries. It's so small but very heavy in the stomach.
I chose to have STARVING SAILOR. I prefer the beef flavor than the chicken. It's a submarine type sandwich with beef strips and cheese.
Thank God that my wait is worth it. It's delicious and very satisfying. The combination of this sandwich with the freedom fries made me feel bloated after that quick eating.
Ate had their Classic BURGER which she said is good but the sesame seeds are bothering her because they look creepy. hahaha Silly!

We returned to Trinoma when we finished our meals. There are many people who went to see the last screening of the movie. The movie is phenomenal and I've been hearing good reviews about it. I personally think that the movie is good but it could have been better if the love story of Cedes and Emman was given a longer time. BITIN kasi! You will see how Angel matured as an actress. I love the confrontation scene of Aga and Angel. It made me realize that sometimes you will not understand or feel good why someone did a certain thing to you, but that does not mean that he/she does not love you.
In the Name of Love is directed by Olivia Lamasan and is the 18th anniversary offering of Star Cinema. It's still being shown in theaters nationwide. Let's support the Filipino Film Industry.

Dinner @ Chef d' Angelo + Thor (04.30.11)

It's the last day of the month and the best way to spend it is by hanging out with your friends. I texted my peers early in the morning but since they are busy reviewing for the upcoming Pharmacists Licensure Examination, only few made it. Ate and Janine met me at Dapitan then we went directly to SM City San Lazaro to have dinner. We went to Chef d' Angelo since it is the nearest one after we inquired of the movie schedule that night.
I really like to have green iced tea that time but sadly, only four seasons is available. It's been years since I last ate here so I am not that updated to the changes in their food selection.
I was supposed to have pasta alone but I was influenced by my hungry friends so I had my usual order, Sampler 1 (Pizza, pasta and big bird fried chicken). It's very affordable but it will surely make your stomach full. I really like their chicken here because it is always juicy and tasty not only on the outer portion but also the meat itself.

After our dinner, we went to the cinemas and purchased our tickets. It was surprising how many people waited to watch this movie which I am not aware of. The film is nice and what's interesting is when Janine told me how it was connected to Iron man. I became instantly excited to watch the next Avengers film. I also like the teaser portion after the credits were shown.
Another happy moment with my lovely peers:) Thanks guys!
