Enjoying Art's Cream Gallery and Monte Carlo Movie Night

After our superb dinner at Holy Cow, I accompanied Deah to but coffee at Starbucks in midtown. We went out and I went to buy ice cream at Haagen Dazs , but unfortunately, it's already close. We where walking when we noticed that the shop in front of Holy Cow where we had dinner is actually a shop offering gelato and coffee named ART'S CREAM GALLERY.
Looking at the different flavored gelato, I was tempted to try them and I decided to have the large cup with three flavors of your choice.
Gelato is a frozen Italian dessert similar to ice cream. Its ingredients include milk and sugar and is often combined with flavorings and fruit, chocolate, liquor, spices or nuts. Unlike ice cream, it does not contain cream, and traditionally has much lower fat content. (www.wisegeek.com)

Here is a photo of the available flavors of their gelato. The different colors are very appealing to the senses and made a weak individual like me to crave.

Here are my choices for that evening... Their best seller chocolate flavored one, Kahlua with Cookies and blueberry cheesecake. Next time I will not forget to take the exact names of the flavors that I will try.
Good thing that all the flavors that I chose went well together. Next time I will try their tower of gelato with 12 scoops of different flavors.

We stayed at their open area with such artistic and lovely tables and chairs for a little while. After that, we already went to the cinemas for our movie side trip.

We watched Monte Carlo. I can compare it to an indie film here in our country. Good thing that its casts are composed of today's brightest young stars like Selena Gomez of Wizards of Waverly Place and Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy. Over-all the film was entertaining and it reminded me of those high school romantic stories I used to watch.

Oh I just love spending time with my friends. We share stories, eat, entertain ourselves, eat, walk, eat and eat!  Yes we love eating! haha,,, Till next time!

Sweet Temptation: Ice CreaManiac

Hi everyone! I don't know what happened to my addiction to cakes lately, it just vanished (for the mean time I guess). But my sweet tooth is not on leave. I am very much into ice creams lately and in my opinion, I should panic now for the rapid increase of calorie intake!!! hahaha

It started one night when I was looking for a vanilla ice cream for a dessert that I made. I saw this Caramel Cheesecake from Selecta Gold label. I was very interested with the flavor since I am a cheesecake lover. I think combining it with caramel is a perfect idea. The next day, I went to the supermarket to buy a small cup of the said ice cream. I did enjoy that sinful cup so much that I bought another one when evening came.

Two days after, I went to buy another cup when I saw this blueberry cheesecake ice cream from Arce Dairy. I remembered Karla having this when they went to Pampanga to visit me last Holy Week.

I love the taste, the color and the consistency of this Arce ice cream. It was fun to eat and i feel like eating a bubble gum flavored one.
I am looking forward to trying other flavors soon. One professor from college told us that if we want to have the old Selecta ice cream, we should buy Arce because they have the old recipe of Selecta.

Then, one lunch break, I went to the supermarket again searching for ice cream and fruits. I really want to buy a whole tab but the time did not allow me to. So I satisfied myself with a small cup again. This time, I tried Belgian Chocolate Bliss. I did not like it like the way I like the previous ones. I am not really into chocolate flavored ice creams. I find nothing special with this one but it's just okay.

One night, I was browsing the internet when I saw a site featuring this Limited Edition ice cream, Magnolia's Apple Strudel. I am enjoying apple stuffs lately. Not to mention that this reminds of my not-so-favorite subject in college because I am not good at it.
I like the mixture of sweetness and sourness in this flavor. It's not usual to have this flavor here in the Philippines. It has apple flavored syrup in red and green, cinnamon bits and crushed chocolate pretzels. This was actually a limited flavor last Christmas. Good thing it's still available up to now.
I served this Apple Strudel my own way to my sister. I added some freshly cooked apple bits and chocolate pretzels on top to add to its attractiveness.

I am set to try other flavors soon. I even go to ice cream parlors with friends because of my addiction lately. I am also planning to make desserts out of the ice creams being bought in the market. Will you give me a cup of ice cream as your treat? hehe just kdding

Lunch @ Five Cows with Barn Buddies! Chos!

Isang umaga, nagising akong masakit ang aking likuran.. ayoko pa sanang bumangon ngunit nakatakda ang aming pag-alis noong araw na iyon... I was pissed with my brother who keeps on telling me to prepare myself  na eh ang aga aga pa,,, 8 am! ahaha,, mabilis pa naman ako mainis pag di maganda pakiramdam ko,,
Since few days na lang pasukan na ulit, mom set this day to shop for the things WE need,, inuulit ko, WE kasama talaga ako,, nakiki-epal lang,, hehe:) We went to Trinoma after Cris' enrollment at UST then the shopping starts...
Dahil nga masakit ang likod ko gustong gusto ko na umupo gawa na rin ng pagbagsak ko sa floor... So when mommy said that she is starving na I immediately second the motion for us to have lunch (take note 3pm na to).
Cris said that she wants Flamming Alaska, the famous ice cream of Five Cows... So we went there and the lafangan started!!!
I love their tables and chairs here. Aside from the country feeling it give, they made me remember my favorite games, harvest moon and barn buddy:))
So we picked our orders and after 5 minutes or so, they first served our beverages. They have these really cute glasses with a small handle. My cousin did not like their iced tea.
My sister and cousin played safe.. They ordered Grilled pork. I had this before and it is really good. Not to mention that they have big servings for this. The meat is tender and rich in flavor.
Mom had Fish Salpicao. She said it has too much garlic and she does not like it. I tasted it and I definitely agree with her, The dish is too salty and I don't like it as well.
I ate breakfast so don't want to have rice again for lunch.. I had Creamy Beef and Wild Mushrooms... It's good and mom wants it as well... It's rich in flavor and the cream is just enough so hindi talaga naakaka-umay!
We chose Jethroe's dish, Beef Salpicao... and like the other Salpicao, it's salty... no more comments
Marvin's was chosen by mommy since she knows na pihikan ang maarte kong kapatid,,, She ordered Beef Tapa,,, and it's good but not great! A safe meal
And for our dessert, the famous Flaming Alaska! You will not fail to notice it once someone ordered this,, they will dim the lights when the flame starts to glow,,, they will shout AWOOOO in chorus after the bell rang...

and what's interesting is the ice cream inside the burnt porcupine like icing...
I enjoyed this lunch with my family,,, too bad dad is not there with us thaat time:(
oh well, until next time:)) try Five Cows yourself! They have varieties of food to choose from:))
It is located at the 4th floor of Trinoma Mall near the cinemas:)

Sweet Temptation: Killing the Summer Heat:)

For the past weeks, I became addicted to sweet foods.
During the holy week, my sister introduced to me Kimy Krazy Banana. It's a banana flavored ice cream inside  a yellow jelly that can be peeled. It's exciting to eat and very delicious!
I ate it like an ordinary ice drop because i forgot that it can be peeled. Based from my experience, it is best to eat the jelly separately from the ice cream inside.
Of course, when we talk of Nestle ice cream, the Twin Pops will never be out of the list. It is good, cheap and good for two if you are not much into sweets. It is also available in chocolate flavor.

I am not a Halo-Halo lover, but I am wondering what Icebergs' Caramel Con Yelo tastes like so I tried it one burning hot afternoon! It am just wondering why is it called caramel con yelo because when I ate it, it has mangoes, bananas, macapuno and other stuffs in it that surely does not tastes like caramel. Good thing it taste just fine!
But I love Razon's Halo-Halo better.
The only thing I like with this better than the other is the vanilla ice cream on top.

Another obsession is Red Ribbon's Brazo de Mercedes.
It's like a thick layer of meringue rolled with golden yellow custard filling.
Most people would prefer the end of the cake roll since it is the one with more custard filling.
The meringue softly dissolves in your mouth.
Very light yet very powerful dessert.
It can be considered as one of the Phillipines' favorite cake specialty.

Happy eating sweethearts!

Sweet Temptation: Arce Dairy Ice Cream (04.20.11)

When we were at Marquee, Bless wants some ice cream so we walked and looked for choices...
Then I remember during our review, a lecturer told us that if you want the original selecta ice cream(before the gold series) then go and but Arce Dairy Ice cream... Even though the Gold creations taste good, I prefer the old selecta since that's what I'm used to when I was growing as a child.
I like the logo of Arce, old country feeling:))

There are many flavors to choose from...
from the classic ube, vanilla, darl chocolate, strawberry to new flavors like pistachio, blueberry cheesecake and a lot more!
I chose pistachio(the green one) Bless had blueberry cheesecake(the blue-green) and Karla chose dark chocolate. Each scoop costs 40php. Cheaper that other ice cream stands but the taste won't fail your expectations:)) Sweet day everyone!!!

Sweet Temptation: Selecta Gold-Berry Strawberry

Thursday night, I went to Mamang Taho but unfortunately it's closed because of a certain activity they have. Then I went to Starbucks P. Noval and Dapitan to have something with caffeine and something sweet but to my disappointment, both are closed earlier than usual since it's summer break.
I went back to my unit but after a minute or so I went out again to buy something from Mini Stop. I went in the ice cream section and I picked Berry Strawberry. This is not the first time I bought this! But what keeps me buying it is the big strawberry slices in the ice cream itself. I almost ate the whole cup in just one sitting, good thing I controlled myself:))
